Founded in 1936, the Natural Products Association is the nation’s largest and oldest non-profit organization dedicated to the natural products industry. This website contains a wealth of resources for natural products marketers – news on scientific research, legislative updates and an extensive directory of retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers.
- The American Herbal Products Association
Created to promote the responsible commerce of herbal products, AHPA provides some great resources for alternative health marketers: On this website you can make sure you have the correct nomenclature for an herb, learn about its traditional use, find out about current and previous clinical trials or check in on legislative news.
- The Council For Responsible Nutrition
For a great source on legislative and media-related issues facing nutritional supplement marketing, check out this website. Since 1973, CRN, a Washington-based trade association representing ingredient suppliers and manufacturers in the dietary supplement industry.
NutraIngredients-USA.com is a daily online news service available as a free-access website and provides daily and weekly FREE newsletters to subscribers. The service seeks out news stories and data of value to decision-makers in the supplement and healthy food industries in the USA.

NPIcenter is the leading global online information resource for professionals in the Nutraceutical, nutritional, dietary supplement, cosmetic, and food industries, receiving in excess of 6,000 business viewers each day. One particularly great feature is NPI’s Executive Interview Series which includes interviews from some of the biggest movers and shakers in the supplement industry

One of my favorite research sites. PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 17 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.
A great place to find out about groundbreaking research! EurekAlert! is an online, global news service operated by AAAS, the science society. EurekAlert! provides a central place through which universities, medical centers, journals, government agencies, corporations and other organizations engaged in research can bring their news to the media.
